BURNSIDE STOCK SALES. NOT MUCH CHANGE IN PRICES. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, March 4. There was no great change in the prices of stock at Bumside to-day. Sheep: A yarding of slightly over 2000 head. There were a lot of ewes, and an average entry of heavy sheep. The opening was fairly sticky. Later on the demand was pretty good, though there was no quotable change in prices. Heavy sheep were if anything a trifle dearer, and light wethers and prime ewes a shade easier. Rates were generally firmer towards the clbse of the sale. Extra prime heavy wethers made up to 49/-; prime heavy, 43/- to 44/6; lighter 35/- to 37/3. Extra prime heavy ewes sold at up to 41/6; prime heavy, 32/34/3; light, from 27/-. Lambs.—About 670 were forward. The quality was fair to good. Prime sold at from 40/- to 43/6; medium, 33/- to 34/9; unfinished, from 25/-. The demand was good for all prime quality lambs. Fat Cattle.—A yarding of 276 head. It was a very mixed entry. There were only a few pens of heavy bullocks, a number of light prime steers, and some extra good cows. The opening prices did not indicate much change. At the start of the sale the top price for best bullocks was £lB 10/-; prime bullocks, £l3 10/- to £l5 5/-; light, from £9 15/-; heifers, £6 15/- to £8 5/-; cows, £5 5/- to £8 15/-. Store Cattle.—An offering of about 250 head. The yarding consisted almost entirely of young and old cows, there being very few steers. Cows with condition sold rather better than at last week’s sale, with other sorts unchanged. Pigs.—There were 150 fats and not many stores. The entry consisted mainly of baconers. There was a good attendance of buyers and a fair demand, prices .going up 4/- to 5/-. THE ADDINGTON MARKETS. YESTERDAY’S LIVE STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, March 4.
