VANITY FANCIES.

Vanity cases, powder bowls and pin cushions are made in all sorts of novel ways. The large pin cushion in the sketch is made from black and white velvet, with the eyes and lashes worked in black darning wool, and two beauty spots are sewn on, the lips and nose are of red silk, and a white tulle frill finishes this off. The powder bowl with the long blue and gold tassel is made of gold paper mache. The hand bag carries out a new idea by having a doll’s head, not on the handle, but in the middle of the bag surrounded by frills of narrow ribbon. The old-fashioned lady is a china powder bowl. A tiny case for the puff is of silk brocade.
