BLUFF CLUB. The opening of the Bluff Swimming Club for the Cup races was held at Bluff on Saturday evening. Results Men’s Cup Race (25 yards)—Lloyd Morrison (2secs), 1; Alex. Morrison (Isec), 2; Leslie Clark (Isec), 3. Won by a touch, third one length behind. Five starters.
Primary School Boys’ Cup (25 yards)— Leslie Anderson, 1; Jack Gregg, 2; Bob Massey, 3. Four starters. School Girls’ Cup (25 yards)—-F.’ Gilroy, 1; K. Bradshaw, 2; H. Spencer, 3. Six starters. Ladies’ Club Race (25 yards)—E. Gilroy, 1; K. Bradshaw, 2. AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. BRISBANE, January 24. In the 100 yards swimming championship of Australia, Kakimoku was first, Doyle second, and Carberry third. Time 50tsecs.
