THE CASE OF DE GARIS. VICTORIAN DETECTIVE ARRIVES IN NEW ZEALAND. By the Union Compajiy'e steamer Manuka, which berthed at Bluff last night from Melbourne, arrived a memlvr of lh« Victorian detective force, who will proceed to Wellington to-day. He will there take charge of C. J. de Garis, who was arreslcd in Auckland on the arrival of the liner Malu-no from Sydney, and who is to be taken back to Melbourne to face a charge of issuing a valueless cheque to the value of £3OO. De Gans will leave New Zealand by the Manuka from Wellington for Melbourne on Monday, arriving there on Friday next
