WIFE DESERTER SENTENCED. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND. November 9. At the police Court yesterday, William Joseph Hill (33), who admitted failing to maintain his wife, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. The police stated that accused left his wife and three children at Wellington in September, 1922, with only £lO. Accused stated that he was willing to abide by an order for 30/- a week, and the Magistrate made an order commencing from the expiry of the sentence.
