BEST TEACHER FOR YOUNG. SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENTS. (Sun Special). LONDON, October 21. Sir James Marchant, chairman of the Cinematograph Commission, says that scientific experiments conducted at the London University revealed the fact that a child remembered more than twice as many facts by watching a film than by listening to a teacher with a book, or by looking at a still picture. Sir James urged the production of films dealing with the British Empire. At present, he said, London children knew more about America’s scenery, life and conditions than they did of British.
