ROSEDALE MILLS
RECONSTRUCTION WORK. NEW BUILDINGS COMPLETED. The disastrous fire which occurred at the Rosedale mills some time ago was a serious setback to the owners, just as the busy season was commencing. As soon as the fire had been extinguished, work was started clearing the debris, and new brick buildings have now been erected to replace those destroyed. The new buildings include a carding room 60 feet by 100 feet, a willey room 40 feet by 25 feet, and a loom shed 20 feet by 50 feet. These buildings will be filled with up-to-date machinery, which is now arriving and being erected at the milk Two mules, a set of carding machines, and wilfey machines are included in the equipment which is replacing that destroyed. A New scouring and dyeing plant is on the water, and due to arrive in a short time. This plant will be a big improvement, and is thoroughly up-to-date. “When the new plant is erected,” said Mr Holmes, ‘fit will be more up-to-date than before the fire. It will not be big, but it will include all the latest machinery, and the mill will be a model one.”
