BOWLING
YESTERDAY’S MATCHES. FOUR-RINK COMPETITION. the first of the A and B grade fourrink competition matches were played last evening under favourable conditions. The Te Rangi v. Waikiwi fixture was not played, and it is understood that the latter Club will not participate in the first round of inter-club games. On the Northend green, the Waihopai A and B grade teams found it difficult to accustom themselves to the fast green, but considering this and the number of first-season Waihopai gave really a creditable display. The Southland v. Invercargill fixtures were more evenly contested, but in the A grade Southland was up in all four rinks. The scores were as follows: SOUTHLAND v. INVERCARGILL.
