WYNDHAM. WELFARE LEAGUE. (From our Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the Wyndham Welfare League was held in the Board room on Thursday evening, when the following were present: Messrs H. F. Hicks, W. J. Marsh, S. Rice, D. N. Raymond, J. Millar, E. Sherbourne (secretary), and C. E. Davey (Chairman). Correspondence from the Wyndham Town Board regarding complaint about wandering stock, and from the Southland League in connection with matters dealing with the South Seas Exhibition was received. Letters from Hon. J. G. Coates and Hon. G. J. Anderson re the suggested motor train service on the Glenham-Edendale branch line were received. Mr Anderson, in referring to this matter, considered that everything possible should be done to get such a proposal adopted by the Railway Department, especially when the present services were so inconvenient. Mr Marsh also moved that it be a recommendation to the incoming Committee to do its utmost to advertise the many beautiful attractions of the district. Messrs Mill Jr and Hicks moved that the Southland County Council be written to in regard to getting the willows growing along the west bank of the Mataura in th© vicinity of the bridge cut back so as not to obstruct the view of the approach to the bridge. There being no further business forward, the meeting closed with the usual courtesy to the chair.
