THE WEATHER

OCTOBER RETURNS. FINE SPELL CONTINUES. During the month of October the province has again experienced an exceptionally fine spell of ideal weather conditions and the rainfall recorded has been very beneficial to. the farm lands. Showers were recorded on 18 out of the 31 days in the month, though in the majority of cases the actual amount was very smalt The greatest fall. .80 of an inch, took place on the 14th of the month. As regards sunshine the province has again a good record to show, the aggregate for the month being approximately 142 hours, which is considerably greater than the aggregate for September. Some fairly strong winds were experienced during the month but in this respect the month has not been so bad as some of the earlier ones, especially when it is considered that the equinoxial winds are to be expected at this particular season of the year.
