SOUTH ROAD ACCIDENT

BOY RUN OVER BY MOTOR. DEATH OF VICTIM. There has been a fatal termination to the motor accident on the North Road on Saturday, whereby a little boy, named Victor Cole, was run over by a motor car, and conveyed to the Southland Hospital in a serious condition. Yesterday afternoon the police were advised by the Hospital authorities that the boy had passed away at 1.50 p.m. yesterday, without having regained consciousness. The victim, who was 11 years of age, was run over by a car which was proceeding in the direction of town. When picked up the boy was unconscious, but on removal to the Hospital, it was at first thought that his injuries were not fatal, and that he would recover. However, the injuries to his head proved to be of a more serious nature than was at first expected, and he never came round. The boy is a son of Mr and Mrs A. W. Cole, of 15 Elgin street, Collingwood. An inquest will be held.
