FOR SOUTHERN LAKES
TOURISTS MAY COME TO SOUTHLAND. AUCKLAND, September 21. A feature of recent inquiries at the Tourist Office has been the interest shown in South Island resorts. Many trips are being arranged to Milford, the Southern Lakes and the Franz Josef Glacier. Among the general tours which are now being planned by the tourist officer are several for the Wanganui River. The summer itinerary for the river top has been arranged and will come into operation early in December. Under the new arrangements the trip from Taumarunui to Wanganui will be completed in a day and a-half, instead of from two and a-half days to three days at formerly. _____
