RETURNED MEN FAVOUR RIGHT OF APPEAL. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 11. Little time was wasted by the Auckland Executive of the Returned Soldiers’ Association in dealing with the Labour Party’s suggestion that the death penalty be deleted from the Articles of War, and the regulations affecting the administration of the New Zealand Forces. A motion was carried opposing this, but favouring the right of appeal to the New Zealand Supreme Court in respect of courtmartial sentences of over two years’ imprisonment.
