The North Island Band Association has definitely arranged with Mr Percy Code, of Australia, to act as adjudicator at the band contest to be held at Auckland early next year. Mr Code was the first selection made, but he was then unable to accept engagement. Mr C. Trussell, who was formerly conductor of the Waihi Federal Band, and who has written some stirring marches, was finally selected, but he had eventually to decline owing to ill-health. Fortunately at this time the way opened for Mr Percy Code, and his appointment has been settled. THE “ALL BLACKS.” When leaving for Sydney, the New Zealand team took good supplies of Q-tol (for embrocation) and Fluenzol as a means of warding off sore throats and influenza. (advt.)
