BLUE ANCHOR MYSTERY

The legal writer of the Daily Chronicle says that the Frenchman, Vaquier, was found guilty of the murder of Alfred Jones, licensee of the Blue Anchor Hotel at Byfleet, on very clear evidence, but public opinion is disturbed, feeling that Vaquier .'alone is bearing the consequences of the crime. The public will not be satisfied till full justice is meted out. M. Herrict’s entourage emphatically deny that the French Premier interceded on behalf of Vaquier. The French Government will not interfere with British justice. M. Herriot, however, sent a personal letter to Hon. Arthur Anderson (Home Secretary), asking that full consideration be given to any ex ten tua ting circumstances
