IN HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. (Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, July 16. CANCER GERM. In the House of Representatives Mr D. G. Sullivan (Avon) has given notice of his intention to ask the Minister of Health whether he has taken cognisance of the cabled reports that Dr Glover, of Canada, has isolated the cancer germ; also whether the Minister will investigate the several forms of cancer. OTAGO CENTRAL RAILWAY. In the House of Representatives Mr J. Bitchener (Waitaki) has given notice of his intention to ask the Minister of Railways whether he will see that a better class of carriage is provided on the Otago Central railway. There was, he said, only one through train daily leaving Dunedin in the morning and arriving at its destination in the evening, and the accommodation was not as good as on the suburban lines. EXPERIMENTAL FARMING. In the House of Representatives Mr J. Bitchener (Waitaki) has given notice to ask the Minister of Agriculture whether he will arrange for an officer of the Department of Agriculture to visit South Canterbury and North Otago to supervise experimental work on the farms there. FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE. Replying to Hon D. Buddo. in the House of Representatives to-day, Mr Massey said the Government was going to take no risk of introducing foot and mouth disease by allowing importations of produce from California. WAR DEBT. Replying to Hon J. A. Hanan, Mr Massey said that he did not think we had much reason to complain so far as we had .gone with the funding of our war debt to Britain. He was aware, however, that since the present terms were agreed upon, Britain had been able to make a better arrangement in -funding her debt to America and he felt very confident the matter only had to be represented to the British Premier and the Chancellor of the Exchequer when they would at once do what was necessary to make matters more equitable to New Zealand.
