48-HOUR WEEK BILL. meN WANT TO BE EXCLUDED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 9. The conference of the National Union of Railwaymen at York passed a resolution demanding the exclusion of the railwaymen from the Forty-eight-hour Week Bill under the Washington Convention. Mr Cramp (railwaymen’s representative) said that if the Bill was passed unamended the railwaymen would close down the railways on Sundays, not merely in regard to traffic, but for repairs.
