(Received June 24, 8.50 p.m.) Lieutenant Manghan completed a transcontinental flight in 9 hrs 44 min, three minutes behind his schedule. He made four stops en route. THE AIR MAIL. PREPARATIONS FOR NIGHT-FLYING. NEW YORK, June 23. (Received June 24, 9.20 p.m.) A Chicago despatch says that the storm Which wrecked eleven Government airplanes at Omaha on Sunday night will not delay the New York-San Francisco air mail service scheduled to open on July 1. The postal authorities announce that twenty airplanes at midway stations are being equipped with lights for night-flying.
