SAVED BY WIRELESS

AVIATORS RESCUED BY MESSAGE WHILE IN THE AIR. (Sun Cable.) LONDON, June 24. (Received June 24, 11.50 pun.) A wireless telephone message to an aeroplane m mid-air saved the lives of three members of the Air Force, who were unaware that the landing carriage was swinging loose under the fuselage. An officer of the Weymouth aerodrome noticed&the defect while the machine was passing overhead and wirelessed an order to come down in the sea. He promptly arranged for the Naval boats to clear an area on the crowded waterfront, and safely picked up the airmen and salvaged the aeroplane, which turned a somersault when it touched the water.
