ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Invercargill Railway Library, the annual report and balance-sheet showed that the institution again had a most successful year. The number of books purchased was 420, whilst the membership also showed an increase. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr J. McNair; Chairman of Committee, Mr M. Miller; Hon. secretary, Mr H. Shand; Hon. Treasurer, Mr A. Brighton. Committee: Messrs Littlejohn, Whiting, Parkin, Smith, Cook, Curie, Claris:, Brosnan, Hayles, Gunn, Holliman, Philpot, Rogers. Collectors: Messrs Porter, Cook, Sberriffs; Auditors: Messrs E. A. Newman, J. K. Robertson; Trustees: Messrs Shardlow, Curie, Cooper; Book Selectors, Mr A. Brighton and secretary; Librarian and Caretaker, Mr R. Porter.
