STOREMEN AND PACKERS
AGREEMENT WITH EMPLOYERS. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 19. The hearing of the industrial dispute between the grain and wool stores section of the New Zealand Storemen and Puckers’ Industrial Association of Workers and the employers in Northern Taranaki, Wellington, Marlborough, Canterbury, and Otago and Southland industrial districts was con eluded before the Council of Conciliation to-day. The matters unsettled at the previous day’s sitting were discussed and an agreement was arrived at on all points.
Wages were fixed as follows: Casuals lOd and 1/10A per hour, casual (oil stores) 1/114, permanent hands £4 per week, permanent hands (oil stores) £4 2/6. It was agreed that Id per hour be paid additional to workers classing hides, sheep skins, rabbit skins or wool, to to workers controlling grass seed and grain cleaning operations, and sampling seed and grain. The wages of youths were fixed as follows: 18 years and under, £2 per week; 19 years, £2 10/-; 20 years, £3.
