CANADIAN PAGEANT
AT THE EMPIRE EXHIBITION. Canadian residents in London are planning on participating in a pageant of Canada in connection with the British Empire Exhibition this summer at Wembley. On the first day of the pageant Canada’s historical side will be represented, and on the second day some aspects of modern conditions in the Dominion will be depicted. For this purpose many hundreds of performers will be required to put on the pageants in their entirety, and it is suggested that a considerable proportion of the number wanted could be obtained from among Canadians who reside in London, although London dwellers who are not Canadian to the number of 15,000 have announced themselves eager to appear in this and other Dominion representations. One suggestion offered was that for the modern side of Canadian life and activity the life on the Prince of Wales’ ranch in Alberta should be depicted, but there is some opposition to this because Canadian ranch life nowadays is not very "thrilling. Another sugestion is that a stampede should be portrayed, but the matter has been left for further consideration.
