DELHI, February 17. “ May every drop of my blood sow seeds of freedom in every home in India,” were the words with which Gopi Nath Saha, a 19-year-014 Bengali, received sentence of death at the High Court sessions at Calcutta. Saha was charged with the murder of Ernest Day, a European, in broad daylight in the heart of the European quarter of Calcutta by shooting him. Accused admitted the crime and expressed contrition for having killed Day, who was a friend of the Indians, in mistake for the Commissioner of Police.
