BOXING

MIDDLE-WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. PARKER OUTPOINTS HEENEY. (Per United Press Association.) GISBORNE, February 15. On points, Eddie Parker of Hastings, the challenger, to-night beat Jack Heeney of Gisborne, the holder of the middle-weight professional championship. In the fifth round Parker received a bad gash under the left eye, which was very troublesome for several rounds. Earlier there was much fighting at close range, which suited Heeney. As the fight progressed he became more open, Parker began to pile up the points and in the last round had matters practically all his own way.
