REFRESHER FLYING COURSE. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 31. A refresher flying course was commenced at the Wigram aerodrome early this morning, under the direction of Captain L. M. Isitt. Several squads will take the course. Those who flew to-day were: Captain M. C. McGregor and A. C. Upham, and Lieutenants P. J. Horrell and D. C. Ingles. Others in the present squad are Captains Drewitt and Musgrove, Lieutenants Hood, Barlow, Gordon, Parke, Mercer and Bolt. Fdfr the first few days, the aviators will take a flying course in the Avros. Thereafter formation flying and other courses will be continued. General Chaytor will inspect the camp on Saturday. SQUADRON FLY OVER CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, February 1. A squadron of six aeroplanes took an hour’s cruise over Christchurch and suburbs to-day in perfect weather, covering seventy miles. Five Avros flew in /. bombing formation, led by Captain P. Misgrave, while a Bristol fighter, flown by Captain M. C. McGregor, M.C., 0.F.C.. provided the escort and did occasional stunts en route. The flight was the first of its kind in New Zealand.
