The Athens correspondent of The Times says: “Rumours are current that the antiVenifelists are preparing for trouble on Sunday, when the general elections are to be held. The Government announces that it is taking elaborate precautions to frustrate attempts to disturb public order or to interfere with the polling. The commander of ths Athens Garrison has prohibited concentration, under a threat of summary punishment. The cafes and places will be closed on Sunday, vehicular traffic forbidden, and church services wi.l not be allowe/i, as the polling will proceed in the churches and schools.”
