ITALY AND THE LEAGUE
MUSSOLINI DEMANDS HIGHER STATUS. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) ROME, November 18. Referring to the Janina massacres, Signor Mussolini, in the course of a speech, accused the League of Nations of taking up an anti-Italian attitude, and said Italy could not place her prestige on moral interests at the mercy of remote minor States. He described the League as a Franco-British duet, adding that he did not want to withdraw from the League, but Italy would not remain in it in her present inferior position.
