A PROFITABLE SEASON. • (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, November 14. Rugby football in Christchurch returned a profit last season of about £llOO and of this sum £9OO was expended in providing a dressing and training room at Hagley Park. The season was commenced with a balance in hand of approximately £lOOO and, after paying all accounts, it was anticipated that the year would close with a balance of £l2OO. The Union showed a net profit on the year of £2OO after paying £9OO for the training shed, which was a non-recurring expense and an asset. NEW ZEALAND UNION. VARIOUS MATTERS DEALT WITH. WELLINGTON, November 14. The question of the appeal of the Marist Club from its suspension by the Canterbury Rugby Union came before the New Zealand Council to-night. After discussion it was agreed that the whole matter be 1 referred back to the Canterbury Union for inquiry and report. Mr Wylie, who moved this, said the suspension was purely a temporary measure made without authority. Several applications from secretaries for bonuses in connection with the services rendered during the tour of the New South Wales team were considered and declined. Further correspondence regarding the boundary dispute between Wanganui and Taranaki was read. A letter from Hawke’s Bay regarding the exclusion of Mill and Gemmel from the All Black team was read. It was decided to inform Hawke’s Bay that the selectors had giveu an explanation on the matter. THE ALL BLACKS’ TOUR. THE MEN’S ALLOWANCE. AUCKLAND, November 14. The Rugby Union Management Committee decided to support Otago in urging the New Zealand Union to make further representation to the English Union to secure an allowance for the New Zealand team. ■ -■!—*
