BETTING TAX
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS IT. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, November 13. (Received November 14, 9.0 p.m.) The Daily Express says that the draft report of the Betting Committee suggests an advalorem tax of 24 per cent on all transactions which means a stamp-giving revenue of £5,000,000. It is proposed to legalise betting.
