The Government Meteorologist’s forecast as follows:—Present indications are for Booth to south-east winds, increasing strong to gale; unsettled boisterous weather; heavy rain probable with rivers rising in many parts. Snow in high country of South Island. Much colder conditions following. ‘The barometer is unsteady, with a rising pendency everywhere soon.
