Pates, Riverton, Morrinsville: The Minister’s action approved and the establishment * of a District High School be confirmed. Helensville, Waiuku and Huntly: The establishment of District High School be approved provided the required list of oupila be supplied. Raupo: The headmaster is required to take secondary classes along with 5.6 or possibly 5.5 and 5.6, that an additional assistant with salary of grade 2B be added to the staff. Eastbourne: That the matter of provid ' ng an instruction beyond 5.6 be left in • the handa of the Department. HunlerviUe: The District High School be ;ontinued. Takaka, Oxford and Bulls: If the position does not improve by the end of the year the Department consider the desirability of establishing a 5.7 class. "That the Council commends the action ' of the Otago Education Board in the mat er of consolidating a number of schools in the vicinity of Lawrence. That the question be referred back to the Otago Edu cation Board with the opinion of the Council that the amalgamation is desirable." , In the opinion of the Council no system of : consolidation of a number of small schools : is as a rule practicable unless the means of i conveyance are owned and controlled by the Education Board.
