DIPHTHERIA

MILD WELLINGTON OUTBREAK. (Per United Press Association). WELLINGTON, June 19. The local branch of the Health Department during the past week received information of a number of cases of mild diphtheria and the Education Board authorities decided as a precautionary measure to close the Kilbimie public school for a week. The Health Department states that there is no reason for undue alarm. The cases are mild and every care is being taken to prevent the spread of the trouble. It is abo stated that there were fewei canes during the past week than for the pre vious period. At Kilbimie school, prompt measures were taken and swabs were taken from all children attending the school. Germ carriers have been discovered and appropriate instructions had been issued to parents.
