DEMAND FOR LOCAL OPTION. (Per United Press Association). TAUMARUNUI, June 19. A conference of delegates of local bodies in the King Country was held last night for the purpose of discussing the question of the possibility and advisability of securing licenses for the King Country. Mr J. A. Gordon, president of the local Chamber of Commerce-, was in the chair. After a lengthy discussion it was resolved to send delegates to the present session of Parliament for the purpose of urging upon the Government the desirability of granting local option for the King Country.
