POLITICAL GOSSIP

HON. D. H. GUTHRIE IMPROVING. (Special to the Times.) WELLINGTON, June 18. Cabinet had another busy day discussing the business of the session. At its conclusion no announcement was made in regard to the new Minister. It is understood that the business to be brought before the House is very well forward, and it is considered likely that some of the Government Bills, will make a very early appearance. Mr Guthrie is improving in health. A Parliamentary friend who visited him on Sunday, states that he appears much better in health, and is up and about, enjoying the sunshine. The Minister has received a message from the Otago and Southland Sheepowners’ Union, expressing their regret at his indisposition, and the hope that he will be speedily restored to health and activity.
