THEFT AND RECEIVING

AUCKLAND CHARGES. (Per United Press Association), AUCKLAND, June 18. At the Police Court Frederick Linton, 18, and Robert Fredrick Edwin Ellis, 21, admitted four charges of breaking and entering in various parts of the city. From a Parnell dwelling they stole jewellery valued at £129; from a Grafton residence jewellery worth £5O; from a Grey Lynn dwelling, suit and jewellery valued at £18; and from a city fruit auctioneers, stamps, pencils, etc. The accused were committed for sentence. Linton was further charged with breaking and entering the dwelling of T. W. Rennie, Christchurch, on March 25, and stealing £2OO in money. He was remanded •to Christchurch on June 27. Charges of having received some of the stolen property in the above cases were preferred against Percy George Fuge, 16, and Stanley Reginald Harvey, 21. Fuge pleaded not guilty to receiving jewellery valued at £lOO and was committed for trial. Harvey pleaded guilty to receiving and was sentenced to two months at Paparua Prison, Christchurch. On a charge of having obtained £3 3s 6d by false pretences at Greymouth, Harvey was remanded to Greymouth on June 27.
