(Per United Press Association.) CYCLIST COLLIDES WITH TRUCK. CHRISTCHURCH, June 15. James Everest Petherick, president of the Christchurch Working Men’s Club and wellknown in theatrical circles throughout New Zealand while cycling past a long queue in the front of the Theatre Royal to-night for the Lauder performance, collided with a heavy electric truck, the wheel of which passed over him. He is lying unconscious in the hospital and his condition is very serious. MOTOR CAPSIZE. CHRISTCHURCH, June 15. A bursting tyre caused an automobile to skid and capsize on a water race three miles from Methven, entrapping the driver, Howard Seldon, of Ashburton, who escaped possible drowning by breaking through the windscreen.
