A DISCLAIMER.

To the Editor. Sir, —Coincident with your publication of the Magistrate’s decision re the petition to upset the South Invercargill Mayoral election, I would ask you to insert this letter. It will be noticed in your report of the Court proceedings of June 4 that Mr W. Macalister asked Mr Dyson if it was not a fact that Mr Samuel Neave had drawn up the notice of lease, Poole to Checkelts The form in question was drawn up by myself in my own hand-writing as several signature attached to the electors’ roll then in Court would have proved. In regard to Mr Neave, I can say positively that I have never yet come into contact with him in any shape whatever. I am desirous of publishing this disclaimer, as without it the integrity of Messrs Dyson, Neave and Checketts -might be adversely affected. The case being sub judice I could not write earlier.—l am, etc., CHAS. H. POOLE.
