INFLUENZA

ULIMAROA HELD UP. (Per United Press Associatipn). AUCKLAND, June 13. Owing to a case of influenza being difr covered on the Ulimaroa, which arrived from Sydney to-day, partique was not granted to the ship. The port health officer, Dr Shorman, submitted the passengers, numbering 130, to careful examination and found all well. A fireman, however, was found to be suffering from influenza his temperature being fairly high. On instructions from Dr Valintine, the vessel was not cleared, but remained in the stream all night. The present arrangement is that she will proceed to quarantine anchorage at Motuiki in the morning, where a careful examination of all passengers and crew will be carried out. Besides 700 tons of cargo for Auckland the Ulimaroa has 433 bags of mail for New Zealand, including 140 for Auckland.
