SWALLOWED PIN. CHILD’S TRAGIC DEATH. (Per United Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, June 13. Joan Elizabeth Carrington, aged 16 months, died in the Hospital to-day, the result of swallowing n pin which lodged in the left bronchus on June 4. The child’s mother saw that it had a pin in its mouth and asked her to give it up. The child laughed when the request was made and the pin slipped down its throat.
