JEWELS VALUED AT £156,000.
LONDON, May 31. A daring robbery occurred in the heart of Milan, says the Daily Mail’s correspondent. Two clerks were carrying to the bank from a goldsmith’s a quantity of jewels worth £156,000, when they were assaulted by three men. The clerks were knocked down, and the three men decamped with the jewels in a motor car. The police took up the chase in another car, and were fired at by the bandits, who escaped.
