Highland Fling, (boys 12 to 15).—Alex Sinclair 1; Jack Mayhew 2; William McGill 3. Sailor’s Hornpipe, (girls 15 to 18). — Thelma E. McKenzie 1; Beulah King 2; Davidina Bruce 3; Grace Cameron 4. Highland Reel, (boys and girls 15 to 18). —Davidina Bruce 1; Beulah King 2; Thelma E. McKenzie 3; Eileen McCarthy 4. Ten entries were received for the compeition for the special prize, awarded for the best c omposit-ion of a slow march, played in the Dugald McPherson Memorial slow march competition. The first prize composition becomes the property of the Otago Centre of the Association, and the tune is to be named “Chief Dugald McPherson’s Lament.” The competition resulted: Kenneth Cameron 1; Duncan Cameron 2; Murdoch Watson (Browns) <3. The special championships were awarded as follows: Strathspey Playing Championship of New Zealand, (all comers). —Archibald McMillan. Otago Champion Piper (all comers). — C. C. McDonald. McDonald. “Chief Dugald Mcpherson Memorial,” special prize £5 5s and gold medal for best playing and composition combined of slow march “Chief Dugald Mcpherson’s Lament.” —C. C. McDonald.
