MINISTER OF RAILWAYS. HON. J. G. COATES TAKES PORTFOLIO. (Per United Press Association). DUNEDIN, June 8. The Prime Minister announces that the Hon. J. G. Coates has been appointed Minister of Railways, in succession to the Hon. D. H. Guthrie, who has resigned his portfolio on account of ill-health. Mr Massey, who has had a strenuous time since his arrival in Dunedin, will leave for Wellington to-morrow morning, the Hon. Downie Stewart accompanying him.
