LAUSANNE CONFERENCE
BELLICOSE ARMY OFFICERS. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright). (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) CONSTANTINOPLE, June 7. In view of delays at Lausanne a group of nationalist army officers sent a memorandum to Kemal Pasha demanding that negotiations be broken off. They declare that the army is capable of evicting the Al'es from Constantinople. TROOPS ON DARDANELLES. TIRED OF LONG WAIT. A CORRESPONDENT’S IMPRESSIONS. LONDON, June 8. The Daily Express’s Constantinople correspondent, who has just returned from a visit to the Dardanelles, states that the troops there welcome the prospect of an early evacuation. The mushroom town of Kelia is ready to disappear at the first word from Lausanne. The graves of the British dead were splendidly tended, he said. The Turkish forces face the British in tranquillity, except for an occasional bickering about the possession of barbed wire at certain points.
