N.S.W. MINERS’ STRIKE
BRITISH COAL PURCHASED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright). (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, June 7. One of the outcomes of the Maitland coal strike is that coal is being shipped to Australia. Two cargoes of British totalling 12,000 tone have been purchased for Adelaide at pr; ■ on a par with local Newcastle coal. is also stated that Welsh and America; coal is under offer. APPEAL TO xDE UNIONISTS. SYDNEY, June 7. The coal position remains unchanged. Available stocks are being rapidly depleted. The council of the One Big Union recommended to the Unions unless a settlement was reached in a fortnight that an appeal be made to the whole trade union movement for financial assistance to fight the coal vend.
