NORTHERN NEW SOUTH WALES. PARLIAMENT URGED TO ACT. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright). (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, June 7. A convention has opened at Armidale in connection with a movement for the creation of the new States. Dr Earle Page, in a speech favouring the movement, declared that it was the only practical solution of the evils of centralisation of industry, capital cities, and to stop stagnation and retrogression of population and development in the country. Mr Bruce sent a similar o advc eating that the new areas . wed work out their own salvation. (Received June 7, 7.15 p.m.). The convention decided to ask the State Parliament to appoint a commission to report upon the creation of a new State, comprising the Northern portion of New South Wales.
