THE SUN. The sun rises to-day at 7.25 a.m. The sun sets to-day at 5.00 pan. PORT OF BLUFF. The Kotare is due at Invercargill from Oamaru and Dunedin about Wednesday next. The Kahika left Wellington yesterday at 6 pan. for Dunedin and Bluff. She is due at Bluff on Saturday. The Orari, which is now loading at Bluff is expected to sail for Picton on Saturday ynnming TRANSPACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. The Hauraki, from Sydney, was due at Fanning Island on Saturday, sth May, and proceeds thence to Vancouver, and loads at Pacific Coast Ports in May for Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. The Waiotapu was to leave Sydney on Sunday, 6th May, for Vancouver and San Francisco. She will load at Pacific Coast ports during June for New Zealand and Australia. The Wairuna from Pacific Coast ports, via San Francisco is due at Wellington on Wednesday, 16th May, and proceeds thence to Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne and Sydney. The Waikawa clears Newcastle on 15th May for Vancouver, via Java. The Waihemo, from Dunedin, is due at San Francisco about Friday, 18th May, and loads at Pacific Coast ports for Napier, New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Sydney. The Berengar (chartered steamer) from Pacific Coast ports, is due at Auckland about Thursday, 10th May, and proceeds thence to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. FRENCH SHIPPING. STEAMER CALLS AT WELLINGTON AND WESTPORT. SYDNEY, May 9. The Messageries Muritimes Company has so re-organised the Australian Pacific service that in future, vessels coming to Australia will not extend their voyages to Noumea, while the new service from France to New Caledonia will be carried on via Panama Canal, the vessels calling at Papeete. Wellington and Westport. The first vessel of the new ser.ice, the El’ Kantara, sailed from Dunkirk cn the 22nd April. Arrived—Tainui (6.40 a.m.) from Lyttelton; Wahine (7.40 a.in.) from Lyttelton. Sailed—Port Nicholson (7.15 ajn.) for London; Wahine (8 p.m.) for Lyttelton. WEATHER FORECAST. WELLINGTON, May 9.
