THE TRAMWAYS
REPORT OF YEAR’S WORKING. DECREASED REVENUE. A return setting out the work accomplished by the tramways was presented to the Town Council last evening by the Traffic Manager (Mr B. J. Glancefield). The report was as follows: The tramway return for the year ending March 31, 1923, as compared with the corresponding period of last year, is as follows : “The revenue shows a decrease of £llBl 4/2 and 23,474 fewer passengers carrier, while the mileage shows an increase of 16,142 miles. The receipts per car were 17.03 as against 18.60. “The percentage of revenue shows 16.2 per cent, concession fares over cash fares, as against 6.14 per cent, cash fares over concession fares for the same period last year. 1923. 1922.
