Mr Ramsay Macdonald, speaking at Cardiff, said there was some misapprehension regarding Labour’s attitude towards the Ruhr. The Entente still existed, but if France could send an invading army to the Ruhr she could pay her debts to Britain. If, as France contended, the Germans could pay reparations, it was a thousandfold easier for France to meet her obligations.
