Mr G. Finn, manager of the New Zealand Cattlecake and Oil Coy., Auckland, manufacturers of “Bill Moose” products, is at present on a visit to Invercargill. A Reuter message states that the late Lord Marcus Beresford left £35,641 sterling. He bequeathed all his racehorses and blood mares to the King “as a small token of humble respect and gratitude for his kindness to me.”
Mr Havelock Williams, the well-known alpine photographer, and Mr G. Edmonds, who are touring New Zealand on behalf of the White Star Tourist Association, left for Stewart Island, Milford Sound, and the Lakes district yesterday. All their photography work will be coloured. It is stated (says a Wellington telegram) that the condition of Sir William Herries, M.P. for Tauranga, is such as to cause his friends considerable anxiety. Sir W. Herries thas been an inmate of the Bowen Street Hospital for some time. He took his seat in the House of Representatives on •opening of Parliament, but he has not Axen part in the present debate.
