EUROPEAN PROBLEMS

AMERICAN CO-OPERATION. PRESIDENT’S APPEAL TO BANKERS. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) NEW YORK, October 4. President Harding sent a message to the Bankers’ Convention in which he suggested that American financial interests might aid in the financial and economic reconstruction of the world. He declared, that the increasing wide-world appeals for American co-operation in solving the problems resulting from the war cannot de denied. “The appeals” said the President, “call for the application of that same spirit of co-operation which is the basis of a bank’s development. I wish to appeal to your organisation on behalf of my conviction that another and more inclusive, and perhaps more difficult opportunity for service is presented.”
